A new ‘Missionary Discipleship’ explored at Catholic Leaders Formation Dinner

Last month saw the inaugural Catholic Leaders Formation Dinner conducted in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

With leaders from across the Archdiocese and across Australia gathered with Cardinal Soane Mafi along with international leaders from England, Africa, and the Pacific.

The dinner followed the Oceania Youth Ministry Equipping School as well as the One: Youth Cultural Festival and Youth Mass.

The Tongan Catholic Community from the Archdiocese hosted the Dinner. The food for the 140 strong crowds was accompanied by fellowship and formation as Catholic leaders.

Cardinal Soane’s address was centered around becoming missionary disciples: a Church that goes forth. This saw him sharing from his life and culture in Tonga and encouraging the leaders gathered to become unified in the vision as one Church across the Pacific.

The Dinner also launched the Catholic Leaders Formation Network ‘Forming Leaders’ series named ‘Called’ which has already begun to be implemented for teachers, leaders and Youth Ministers across the Archdiocese.
