Eden’s Josephite Sisters share their deep connection with St Mary MacKillop

After COVID restrictions pushed the event online in 2020, the popular St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Pilgrimage in Eden was celebrated just in the nick of time.

With lockdowns looming, the event, now in its fifth year, managed to be held just before regional NSW and the ACT were plunged into lockdown restrictions.

A regular attendee, Archbishop Christopher describes the event as a beautiful and significant pilgrimage.

“Eden was a place of great devotion for Mary due to her mother’s death in the ocean nearby,” he said. “The parishioners at the time were most hospitable to her mother.”

Below, Archbishop Christopher speaks with three Josephite Sisters and the region’s parish priests as they share their impressions of St Mary MacKillop and her connection with Eden.
