CANBERRA’S Serra Club marked the 40th anniversary of receiving its charter from Serra International at a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Christopher Prowse in Holy Trinity Church, Curtin.

After Mass, Archbishop Prowse presented the Serra club president, John Smith, with a certificate from the Serra Council.

The Archbishop noted the role of Serra in petitionary prayer for vocations and encouraged the club to join with other groups in the Archdiocese praying for this intention.

Eight past presidents of the club dating back to the 1988 president, John Drury, were in attendance at the anniversary dinner and each one recalled highlights of their time as president.
