Will I proclaim the Cross?

St Paul preaches the Cross and resurrection of Christ, which transforms the people around him. In today’s reading, Paul is preaching, and it is only when he teaches the resurrection that people begin to react. They are interested enough before he mentions Jesus rising from the dead. However, it is the resurrection that causes the most significant reaction. Most people turned away, but some were interested and asked to learn more.
 
The proclamation of the Cross of Jesus and his resurrection is the only thing that will transform people’s lives. Paul says in Romans that “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation.” For people to receive the power of salvation, we need to share with them that Jesus died and rose again. In being ready to proclaim this reality, we will see people’s lives change.
 
Lord, please help us to be ready to proclaim your Cross and resurrection.
