Flores de Mayo / Santacruzan (Flowers of May and Holy Cross Procession)

Flores de Mayo (Flowers of May) is a Filipino Marian devotion of offering flowers to the Blessed Virgin during the month of May.

The Santacruzan (Holy Cross) Procession celebrates the finding of the True Cross where Jesus died by St Helena, the mother of Constantine the Great.

These two events will be celebrated in our Archdiocese on 25 May 2019 (Saturday) at St Monica’s Church grounds (Deffell Street, Evatt). The Santacruzan Procession assembly starts at 10am, procession starts at 10.30am, followed by Holy Mass at 11.30am.

Kids are encouraged to come dressed up as angels or saints, and adults in multicultural attire. All are encouraged to bring flowers for Our Lady.

Pot luck lunch follows the festivities. Please bring a plate to share.
