THE Vatican’s coordinator for the COVID-19 response Sr Carol Keehan

AUSTRALIAN concert organist Thomas Heywood will play the famed organ at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne, on Friday, 5 February, nearly 60 years after its installation. Heywood is considered one of the world’s finest concert organists, having travelled 1.2 million kilometres across the globe performing solo concerts on the world’s most celebrated pipe organs.

NEWS of the death of Archbishop Philip Wilson, former Bishop of Wollongong and Archbishop of Adelaide, has been met with sadness across the Catholic community. He died unexpectedly in Adelaide on 17 January at the age of 70. He was seen as an important figure in introducing reforms to help the Catholic Church respond to child sexual abuse. He was charged with failing to respond adequately to allegations of child sexual abuse while a priest in the Hunter region, but was acquitted.

She was described in 2010 by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people in the world.
