St Christopher’s Pastoral Centre wins awards

Approximately nine months after the building was completed, blessed and officially opened, the St Christopher’s Pastoral Centre and Marian Independent Living Units have taken out four awards at the recent ACT Australian Institute of Architects Awards.

The awards include an award for Public Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing, along with a commendation in Urban Design.
In addition to these accolades, the project was also recognised as the best Commercial Building in its category at the recent ACT Master Builders Building Excellence Awards.

Archdiocesan Financial Administrator, Helen Delahunty, said it is very much a case of reward for effort.

“Successful projects are always the result of a close creative collaboration between Client, Architect, and Builder. Working with Cox Architecture and Hindmarsh Constructions on the St Christopher’s Precinct has certainly been a case in point.,” she said.
