You are the Christ!

In these challenging times it can feel as though the Church is under attack from the secular world. In response to this negativity Catholics firmly defend the Church’s positions on morality and doctrine. This is, of course, very important. Yet, we are reminded in today’s Gospel reading that the Church will always endure, and hold off her enemies, by way of the confession of Jesus as the Christ. It is in this confession that we find our hope, our joy, our love, and our ultimate and unwavering commitment. It is also in this confession, and not always in political posturing, that Christians are more-often-than-not respected by non-Christians.
