Day for Daniel

Police Youth Liaison Officer, Donna-Marie Clarke and local Ambassador for Day for Daniel Melissa Pouliot surrounded by Lumen Christi students.

On Friday October 26, Lumen Christi Catholic School participated in ‘Day for Daniel’ which is Australia’s largest child safety and education day.

It was a day of action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and prevention.

Melissa Pouliot, a local Ambassador for Day for Daniel, as well as a Police Youth Liaison Officer, Donna-Marie Clarke visited the college to discuss how students can stay safe in both the real world and online.

During the day, students also had the opportunity to watch an online safety lesson, as well as discuss strategies for staying safe at all times.

The day is held each year in remembrance of Daniel Morecombe, who was abducted and murdered on his way to school in 2003.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn now has a new Professional Standards and Safeguarding page we can be accessed here.
