Pilgrims Return For Eden To Ulladulla

BY JOHN MCLAURIN

MACKILLOP-WOODS Way pilgrimage enthusiasts, David Schütz and Sean Deany will return to the Archdiocese this month, together with their fellow pilgrim Josh Martin.

Last year David and Sean reached Eden, having come from Orbost as part of their pilgrimage to St Mary MacKillop’s birthplace in Melbourne to her tomb in Sydney.

Their story featured in the June 2017 issue of Catholic Voice.

This month, the trio plan to walk from Eden to Ulladulla over a period of 11 days. They again hope to call on the hospitality of the coastal parishes for their journey.

Already the parishes of Pambula, Bega and Batemans Bay have offered help. They plan to be at Narooma for Sunday Mass on April 22.

“The next leg of our pilgrimage has come around very quickly,” Mr Schutz said.

“We know that the terrain from Eden to Ulladulla will be testing at times, but we are well prepared.”

They are inviting anyone who is “fit enough” to join them as they tackle the next leg of their pilgrimage.

“If anyone wants to walk with us on one of the days or even just for a few hours, they are most welcome,” Mr Schultz said.

The pilgrims aim to complete the Ulladulla to North Sydney stretch during the 2019 Easter holidays. Mr Schutz can be contacted on 0400 978 938.
