Whole Town

I take it that you are comfortable with the “whole town” being a metaphor for a “large number of people” (Acts 13).

Not only do people seem very keen to hear the Word of God, but the Apostles are keen to proclaim it.

If people reject it, there is to be no alteration of it. Jesus’ advice has been taken: “Shake the dust off your feet.”

The Word of God is a powerful grace.

The hearers are aroused to thanksgiving. The witnesses are filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

We can look forward to both graces.

Amen.
