Nurses Reunion at Young hailed a great success

A Reunion for the nurses of Sacred Heart – Mercy Hospital was held across May 25-26 and described by participants as their best reunion yet.

After nine months of preparation the Sacred Heart/ Mercy Hospital nurses reunion turned out a huge success  with nurses travelling from Queensland, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Forbes, Gosford, Wagga, Griffith, Albury, Mudgee and Young.

The reunion commenced at the meet and greet at Hennessy Catholic College’s restaurant Saturday 1.30pm. Sixty guests enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea served by students and Meghan Worner.

Dr Michael Mullany was a special guest who made a very entertaining speech.

Mass was next at 6pm then 110 visitor attended the main event, dinner at the Young Services Club.

Bill Kearney acted as emcee and Sister Act provided great entertainment, thanks to Sue, Tanya, Lois, Joy and Carmen.

Guests were also entertained by a powerpoint presentation of 600 photos that was played throughout the night.

The beautiful Reunion cake was made by Val Patterson and Corinne Rolls and was shaped like an open book with nurses photos as the icing. It was cut by Sr Ellen, Sr Bernice, Sr Kate and Sr Theresa.

Sixty nurses and partners attended brunch at Urban Retreat on Sunday it was a fantastic gathering and we all hope to  gather  again in 3 years 2022.
